I had the privilege of being part of the VFX in this amazing movie, I worked on the shots showing polyphemus and pandora , you can take a look at this shot in this amazing documentary online, that can be seen in 1080p resolution
Seriously? i didnt know, awesome stuff man, i cant even conceive how you do it. I personally am not a big fan of the story line in avatar, Hahaha, it was like Ferngully with blood and cursing. But the technical stuff still remains. I loved the work put into the film as a whole (except for the story)
But that must be some amazing kind of stuff if you actually get to work on a movie that big, and that special. Congratulations...
I have to ask though JJasso, being so skilled and so talented, how on earth does one even approach what you do and how to get there? Any tutorials? Haha, but i take it your extremely busy so i feel rather uncomfortable asking.
What actually did you make on this picture in particular, 3d models? painting?(how the hell do you paint something like that? i dont even know.)
hi,production is really demanding that's why every year I have the chance to work on personal stuff just for once ! really , but well I enjoy working for film vfx, and the only thing I did is not schools , is juts practicing but A LOT ! and getting together with better artist will make you a better artist faster ,for the work I did for avatar, I used only 2 spheres in 3ds max to re project the final paintings, but the painting were done with lots of photo manipulation and lots of 2D painting which was really hard because this wasn't meant to look painterly or sketchy , but totally photo real, I learned a lot in the process thanks again and keep it up ! keep practicing, get some gnomon dvd's start a project andhit the road !
